On this page you will find an overview of the agency’s schedule so you can know when best to reach us and expect a response for normal adoption business matters. We are a family-oriented agency, so the timing of closures is often in line with school vacations and family needs. Adoption agencies are highly regulated, requiring extensive documentation, accountability and good organization. Set times are also budgeted for these tasks.
Phones are monitored regularly for emergencies throughout the year. Some agency social workers provide home visits, birth parent services and consultations during the weekends, notwithstanding the schedule noted below.
Some of our clients and partners are located internationally, thus the explanation of dates for common American holidays.
Monday-Thursday, 9 AM – 5 PM, extended hours before and after as needed. Friday is an internal administrative day for agency work.
New Year’s Day (January 1), Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (first Monday in September), Thanksgiving week, Agency Christmas holiday, from the 22nd-26th of December.
During the last week of December, the main office is closed for normal business for the requisite compliance and planning projects.
There are curtailed services during the typical travel periods for agency core staff for work trips and/or vacation time. Typically, this is scheduled for two weeks in mid-January, over the school Easter/Spring break, and during a pre-announced period of two weeks in the summer.
